Team Overview:

Decision Management Program (DMP) is a sophisticated, industry-leading intelligence with a range of capabilities that structure and apply complex business logic across the payment journey and beyond to inform and accelerate decisions at scale at Mastercard.

The Authorization Decisioning product within DMP combines DMP's powerful capabilities with access to all authorization messages available within Mastercard. With access to the full extent of transactions as they happen, Authorization Decisioning can extract intelligence, add intelligence, and make decisions, all customizable to market-facing products. With the ability to bi-directionally consume and apply intelligence, Authorization Decisioning can transform insights into immediate operational action.

The DMP team is looking for someone to join the Authorization Decisioning product as Quality Engineering Lead for driving the adoption of Quality Engineering services—including code quality, test automation, performance engineering, environment automation, development collaboration, and continuous integration across multiple agile feature teams . You will collaborate closely with Quality Engineers, Developers, Operations, DevOps, Product Management, and Program Management to define scope, influence best practices, and deliver high‑impact services that enable flawless customer experiences.

Role:

Lead quality engineering strategy, automation, and exploratory testing across web, mobile, and API platforms.
Drive adoption of QE, performance engineering, CI/CD, and environment automation practices.
Implement BDD/TDD, ensure strong code quality, and achieve high automation and code coverage.
Provide technical oversight on test automation, code reviews, quality metrics, and engineering best practices.
Partner with engineering, DevOps, operations, and product teams to define test strategy and automation scope.
Understand end-to-end customer flows and ensure quality across the entire value chain.
Oversee integration of test automation with Jenkins/Bamboo, Sonar, and other quality tools.
Guide teams on performance testing using JMeter/LoadRunner and support continuous delivery pipelines.
Mentor and develop Quality Engineers in a fast-paced, high‑performance culture.
Develops and executes performance testing strategies, automation, and best practices to ensure end‑to‑end application reliability and efficiency.
Provide production support and when needed reproduce issues across multiple applications and collaborate in driving their resolution.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high-quality, customer‑focused delivery.

All About You:

12-14 years' experience in software test automation and quality engineering.
Strong Java coding skills; hands-on with Spring, JUnit, Rest Assured, Appium.
Expertise with Cucumber/JBehave, REST/SOAP API testing, CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with quality tools (Sonar, Clover), security tools (Checkmarx, Fortify), and performance tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
Knowledge of payments domain, design patterns, and ISO message protocols preferred.
Familiarity with cloud, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Chef/Puppet), and device cloud testing platforms.
Familiarity with lifecycle tools such as JIRA, Rally, Rational Team Concert.
Strong communication skills, including presenting to technology and business leaders.
Proven ability to lead teams and drive engineering excellence.
Demonstrated success in large-scale automation and testing initiatives.
Strong communication, influencing, and mentoring skills. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $140,000 - $231,000 USD
