Your Role in 30 Seconds:
As the Manager Business Development - Retail & Commerce, you will be part of a team developing our Retail & Commerce Customer Segment in Central Europe, with a specific focus on Greece.
This role involves identifying key technical and commercial trends relevant to merchants (retailers and other card-accepting industries) and developing solutions with our clients' organizations in both traditional and digital payment segments. Your goals will include exploring trends, building solutions and strategies, and signing key customers and partners for these products. You should be a self-starter with a technological mindset and a willingness to go the extra mile to create compelling payment solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain strong relationships between external stakeholders (merchants and their service providers such as acquiring banks, payment technology enablers) and internal teams (in-market and central) to deliver on all objectives.
• Identify key trends and innovative projects. Actively identify trends that shape the environment we operate in, driven by technology, changing business models, and consumer expectations.
• Develop compelling solutions that address target customer needs. Partner with Customer Solution Architects and Product teams to deliver superior value to customers and contribute to Mastercard's financial success.
• Identify a pipeline of merchant customers that can be addressed with existing and emerging solutions and products.
• Contact target customers, identify their needs, and sell our solutions.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Experience in a fast-paced, technology-centric environment, including payments, e-commerce, retail, financial services, and/or consulting.
• Fluency in English and Greek; additional language knowledge is a plus.
• Curiosity, can-do attitude, agility, creativity, and a real team player.
• Results-oriented and customer-focused self-starter.
• Proven ability to develop sustainable business relationships in diverse environments and a track record of successful sales.
• Strong communication skills and ability to act in a matrix environment.
• Strategic thinking, ability to understand and execute on key operational aspects, and attention to detail.
• Business acumen with the ability to create solutions that meet real customer needs.
• Track record of relationship management, business development, and negotiation skills.
• Based in Greece (Athens Office) with a willingness to travel.
