Title and Summary

Manager, Business Development • Americas (AMER) Overview
The Market Development team is responsible for growing revenue with key Fintechs and enablement partners to drive Mastercard's strategy forward by expanding our reach in core payments, enabling adjacent payment platforms and offering services including cyber and intelligence solutions.

The Market Development team is looking for a Manager, Market Development to grow our relationships and cross sell opportunities with targeted and high growth Fintech partners and ecosystem enablers. The Manager, Market Development will own and drive relationships and business enablement within this segment. The ideal candidate is passionate about deepening and growing our partnerships with existing Fintechs and new partners. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial and Fintech mindset. You will drive growth for Mastercard and support our strategic priorities. We are looking for a, structured problem solver with a creative outlook, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and influence others without direct authority.

Role
In this client-facing position, you will:
• Have the overall responsibility for new business development and account management of a portfolio of strategic Fintechs and ecosystem enablers driven by robust planning – building a deep understanding of customer needs, defining creative solutions to meet those needs, and working effectively across internal functions to bring together the resources required to deliver enhanced value to the customer
• Own and develop strong relationships and understanding of the evolving Fintech eco-system partners including programme managers, processors, platforms and middleware companies, relevant incubators/accelerators in the designated market
• Broaden the relationship with each stakeholder to drive more strategic discussions, product sales and entrenchment with Mastercard and support strategically significant organizational initiatives, including cross-selling of key Mastercard products, capabilities and solutions to deepen relationships
• Apply consultative sales discipline and collaborate with cross functional partners to achieve results
• Assists in local projects and cross-functional initiatives
• Collaborate on all aspects of customer proposals and deal execution including business case development, commercial terms structuring, negotiations, and legal contracting in close collaboration with key business partners

• You're a self-starter who can effectively mobilize, influence, and lead large, cross functional internal and external teams - if there's a hurdle, you know what levers to pull to work around it.
• You are a compelling and articulate communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a proven track record of creating value-added solutions that increase revenue.
• Demonstrate strong relationship management experience throughout all levels of customer organizations and you consistently exhibit sound business judgement.
• Strong project management skills - experience and a proven track record of managing simultaneous initiatives, solving problems, and applying effective planning skills to deliver multiple initiatives successfully.
• Dynamic, forward-thinking positive team player, adept at engaging and leveraging internal resources to achieve success and contribute to the wider team environment.
• Experience working for or with Fintech is an asset.
• You are intellectually curious, keep up to date on the market and competition and committed to continuous learning. You understand and stay abreast on all payment trends and products especially in relation to the Fintech ecosystem and enablers.
• Ability to think outside the box and recognize the value of alternative thinking.
• Strong team player with business acumen.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Mastercard's core products, services, and rules.
• Post-Secondary Education required; MBA preferred. French bilingual is an asset.
