Title and Summary

Managing Consultant, Advisors & Consulting Services, Technical Program Management Advisors & Consulting Services
Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution. Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard's rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Our teams work with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants.
The Advisors & Consulting Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Program Management consultants lead clients through business transformations by implementing strategically important Mastercard assets and services to bring value and drive growth. They serve as the Center of Engagement across all stakeholders within Mastercard and the client's organization.

Roles and Responsibilities
You will manage a portfolio of projects that support a strategy, a strategic change, or initiative with significant impact on the client organization. You will manage complexity and inherent risks across a wide range of business areas, where there are strong interdependencies and shared resources, and you will manage benefits from their initial identification and definition through to the eventual realization and achievement of measurable improvements.
Client Impact
• Drives execution of an outcome from inception through successful delivery of the services or domains, or an outcome that spans multiple teams and integrations across the enterprise
• Works with multiple scrum/delivery teams to build/improve ways of working and identify and mitigate risks or issues that may impact the plan
• Conducts meaningful retrospectives, creates action plans to implement changes at the team level; coordinates with other TPMs in the program to align and plan potential actions to be implemented across the program
• Looks across the program to identify potential system efficiencies or process improvements, and suggests proactive strategies for consideration by program leadership
• Clearly articulate scope, timelines, dependencies, owners, actions, risks, and mitigations. Report progress to teams and senior leadership in regular cadence, potentially representing segments of or the entire program
• Looked to as first point of contact for your teams or business line/service and the source of truth for status, providing the correct information and associated data about the state of the project to the right audience at the right time with the right focus
• Mitigate risks, solve issues, and ensure plan remains in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and quality criteria
• Identify new business opportunities and communicate to executives to pursue, leading seales calls and client development including proposal contribution
• Own key relationships with mid-level to senior client stakeholders and independently assess client agenda, internal culture, and change readiness

Team Collaboration & Culture
• Lead team to creative insights and sound business recommendations, and deliver impactful and influential client presentations while growing team members' roles and skills
• Provide expertise and day-to-day project delivery team leadership, supporting evolution of solutions with innovation and create a collaborative and inclusive environment for all levels
• Manage relationship with internal Mastercard leadership and stakeholders and build the firm's intellectual capital
• Effectively leverage subject matter experts to develop best customized solutions
• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members, including evaluating performance, and providing feedback

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
• Technical program delivery experience leading development and implementation of payment solutions and measuring impact on clients' business
• Undergraduate degree with work experience in project management and change management methodologies and techniques in payments environment
• 4-6 years of Project Management experience with Agile/Scrum implementing core payment solutions or digital solutions such as mobile applications or digital transformations
• Exposure to financial institutions, payments, and/or consultancies
• Experience coaching and managing teams across multiple projects and/or engagements with third parties
• Experience managing key client relationships
• Knowledge of business KPIs, financials, and organizational leadership
• Ability to provide perspective on industry and marketplace
• Expertise in Payments, IaaS, PaaS, huge plus if you have expertise in CI/CD, SQL databases, microservices APIs, and distributed systems operations in a DevOps model are a plus

Preferred qualifications
• Have completed or interested in pursuing recognized professional accreditation, such as Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Knowledge of Project Management tools
• Exposure to payments and/or retail banking or merchants
• Experience generating new knowledge or creating innovative solutions for a firm
• MBA or master's degree with relevant specialization (not required)

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
