Title and Summary
Senior Analyst, Regulatory Compliance OverviewMastercard's Global Regulatory team is responsible for liaising with key regulators and law enforcement officials for the purpose of preventing or minimizing the impact of adverse regulations on the company's profitability and growth potential. This newly created position will play a key role in supporting the strategic development & implementation of regulatory infrastructure and the compilation of regulatory submissions within Canada. This position is part of the Global Regulatory team from a functional perspective and the Americas Region from a regional perspective.

The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Compliance, will be responsible for strengthening, extending and sustaining a successful compliance program for Mastercard's operations in Canada. The role will identify and implement best practices in regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will support regulatory compliance activities and will work cross-functionally with their Mastercard colleagues including Regulatory, Legal, People and Capability, Finance, Franchise, Treasury, Public Policy, Privacy/Data Usage, Global Ethics and Compliance, Internal Audit and account teams in Canada.
Key Accountabilities of the Role:
• Support the use of global regulatory compliance tools and frameworks and collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance
• Execute the compliance assurance monitoring program to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations. Conduct regular compliance gap analysis of internal controls to ensure compliance with various applicable laws in Canada; recommend and implement remedial actions and improvements
• Produce and maintain relevant regulatory compliance policies and departmental procedures
• Act as an escalation point for regulatory compliance queries in Canada
• Participate in the incident monitoring process, perform preliminary evaluation of incidents and engage with Regulatory Counsel as needed
• Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests in Canada
• Provide compliance guidance and act as a role model for proper conduct for other business areas in Canada
• Investigate and respond to regulatory complaints, escalating as required; submit regulatory filings and participate in industry working groups
All About You
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge and understanding of Canadian payments regulation
• Experience executing regulatory compliance programs, including design, implementation, and oversight of controls
• Good understanding of core pillars of effective regulatory compliance programmes and relevant regulation and legislation
• Critical problem-solving ability
• Project management skills
• Self-starter who is flexible and agile in a rapidly changing environment
• Solutions orientated perspective
• Risk management and internal controls focused
• Must be able to work on complex issues of significant importance
• Ability to juggle substantial competing demands and adapt to evolving priorities
