Title and Summary

Senior Network Engineer Overview

•MasterCard Customer Engineering is a team responsible for strategic planning, design, and implementation of MasterCard's networks in support of our global markets.
•A Network Engineering Job consists of two main functions: Building and Maintaining MasterCard's global Customer Network and Corporate office network.
•Require a strong, experienced Technical Project Manager/Sr. Network Engineer to be responsible for:
Design and deliver network and communications solutions that satisfy the customer, product, application, service, and backbone requirements.
•Manages/leads large network infrastructure Projects to ensure security, availability, recoverability, performance, integrity, and supportability across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
•Managing escalations and resolving network communications and operation issues
•Builds and maintains networks for production and pre-production environments; assists in the development of requirements for upgrading existing Mastercard networks

Role

•Assume lead and total accountability for ongoing projects as assigned, including responsibility for planning, time and cost control, resource utilization, and implementation in support of New customer connectivity, Network upgrade Projects, Relocation projects, and Disconnect projects
•Special projects (MasterCard Network infrastructure upgrade and enhancements)
•Coordinates with multiple internal Mastercard and external stakeholders to implement technical networking activities
•Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for interruptions to IT services, communicating with internal and external parties, investigating issues, and restoring service.
•Participate in special network services projects involving improvements to engineering activities, vendor support, customer support, problem resolution, and technical implementation.
•Manage external and internal customers' escalations and resolve network communications and operation issues.
•Develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing corporate and MasterCard Customer networks and re-architecting network segments to facilitate new requirements, technologies, and growth.
•Ensure all engineering systems and tools are correctly documented and managed.
•Enhance value for customers through better design and operation of services. This includes the departmental process or service improvements (implementing process improvements, coordinating improvements, lessons learned, process mapping)
• Evaluate current networks and applications to formulate recommendations for potential infrastructure design improvements
•Communicate effectively: Ability to listen, share knowledge, teach, and train people combined with outstanding communication and presentation skills. Uses project management methodologies to implement network projects

All About You

•Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills are required, with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships, including superior customer focus
•Knowledge of Project Management methodology (Prince2/PMP preferred), vendor management, IT best practices, ITIL, and PCI Standards.
•Advanced/Expert knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto products & Network Technologies, Security, and Wireless.
•Must have experience with MPLS, broadband, satellite (VSAT), leased lines, and wireless technologies.
•Must have worked on the following protocols: TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, TACACS+, SNMP, DMVPN Policy-based routing
•Preference for Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification R&S (CCNP Routing & Switching) OR above certifications (CCIE R&S/Security).
•Experience of working with local and global service providers.
•Strong analytical/problem-solving and planning skills
•Ability to multi-task on multiple projects effectively while setting priorities and meeting deadlines under pressure
•Comfortable around higher management; can influence without creating undue conflict or resistance
•Advanced Microsoft Excel /Word experience.
