About the Role
The Mastercard Authentication Program owns how consumer authentication works for both in-store and e-commerce transactional use cases. The primary purpose of this role is to develop and deliver best-of-breed authentication products for e-commerce transactional use cases that will drive uptake and penetration for the products and revenue for Mastercard. The authentication products that fall within this role's responsibilities are ID Check, Token Authentication Service and Token Authentication Framework.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Automation: Use automation tools to make software development more efficient, reliable, and consistent.
Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD): Write scripts to automatically set up the deployment environment and integrate new code frequently.
Release Management: Plan, schedule, and execute software releases for customer access services, ensuring smooth and timely deployments across multiple environments (AWS, Azure, VMs, PCF).
Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to identify bottlenecks, ensure optimal performance, and proactively address any scalability issues in the platform.
Monitoring: Set up monitoring tools to track the performance of software systems and configure alerts to address critical events.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Develop and optimize automated deployment pipelines to improve the speed and reliability of deployments.
Platform Upgrades: Manage and execute platform upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transition across all environments.
Cross-Environment Deployment: Oversee deployment across various environments, including cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), on-premise VMs, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry, ensuring consistent configurations and smooth operations.
Automation & Process Improvement: Lead efforts to automate deployment processes and continuously enhance the efficiency of our release engineering practices. Foster the evolution of release processes to keep pace with changing technologies and business needs.
Collaboration & Support: Work closely with Development, and Operations teams to support and troubleshoot issues related to deployment, performance, and platform scalability.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of release processes, deployment pipelines, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
Technical support: Investigate and resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide technical support.
Process improvement: Work towards continuous improvement by building pipelines and creating or updating new processes.
All About You:
•Proven professional experience in a release engineering, DevOps, or similar role
•Extensive experience in release engineering, with a focus on Java-based platforms
•Proven experience in deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and on-premise VMs, with experience in PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) a plus.
•Understands and implements standard branching (e.g., Gitflow), peer reviews and CI/CD practices (e.g. Jenkins, Chef Habitat)
•Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies is a plus
•Strong knowledge of performance testing, monitoring, and scaling of Java applications using tools such as Blazemeter or LoadRunner or JMeter, Dynatrace, and Splunk
•Able to perform debugging and troubleshooting to analyze core, heap, thread dumps and remove coding errors
•Experience in process automation and scripting (e.g., Shell, Python, Groovy or similar languages)
•Strong proficiency in programming language (e.g. Java) and frameworks (e.g. Spring boot)
•Familiarity with security practices and deployment of security services platforms
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and manage time effectively
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
