Vice President, Area Marketing Overview

The mission of Worldwide Marketing is to maximize franchise value across MasterCard Worldwide portfolio of assets. MasterCard Worldwide Marketing strives to illustrate that MasterCard is the safest, easiest and most rewarding way to pay for everything that matters.

In Australia MasterCard's marketing and communications objective is to connect with Australian consumers and position the brand among Australian consumers as safe, easy and rewarding all built atop leading global payments technology.

This Head of Marketing & Communications - Australia and NZ will dually report to the Regional AP Marketing and Comms Leader and the Australasia Divisional President.

He/She will be responsible for…
• Developing a strategic marketing and communications roadmap to drive business results through marketing to issuers, merchants and consumers. S/he will be responsible for positioning the marketing function right at the forefront of MasterCard Australia.
• Retain market share and support revenue goals by implementing marketing strategy and overseeing the implementation of all marketing & comms initiatives to support the Australia division's objectives – namely to reconnect with Australian consumers and refresh MasterCard's brand among Australian consumers as safe, easy and rewarding all built atop leading global payments technology.
• Creating, securing financial support for, and executing marketing campaigns that are aligned to increase revenue and the point of sale, on-line and off, for both traditional and non-traditional customers.

Role

• Develop the strategic marketing framework to support MasterCard's brand and business objectives
• Fully develop, launch and oversee the execution of the consumer experience focused platforms
• Build new businesses by increasing card on file preference for Mastercard through all channels
• Developing compelling new marketing assets that our issuing and merchant partners can leverage to grow card share and drive greater spend on Mastercard products
• Develop brand-level and product marketing programs including advertising, sponsorships, promotions, interactive and PR to drive business and brand results for consumer and corporate end-user segments
• Support Account Management teams to win new business through innovative marketing programs
• Lead & deliver exceptional customer events throughout the year
• Deliver on Australia Division's financial performance targets, brand and marketing metrics and ROI.
• Close partnership with Advisory and Product teams to create new consumer value proposition for target segments
• Execute all product and brand marketing to drive inbound, cross border and ecommerce transaction velocity
• Manage multiple agency partnerships and drive innovation through new ideas across marketing and comms
• Effectively deliver and enhance existing sponsorship programs throughout the year

All About You

• You will be a veteran of marketing and communications, a generalist across all forms of marketing and have experience with both B2B and B2C marketing
• Extensive experience in leading and creating high performing teams
• Experience in working in global organisations and can navigate and influence through the matrix
• Exceptional stakeholder management – a natural born collaborator and comfortable in pitching and presenting new ideas to external and internal stakeholders
• Solid understanding of media, sponsorships, digital marketing, social and comms/PR
• Commercially oriented leader, with deep understanding of analytics, measurement and a strong curiosity to learn from others
• Proven results in creating innovative marketing programs
• Deep business leadership experience with cross-functional skills, having been instrumental in scaling up businesses
• A highly energetic individual, able to juggle multiple high profile and fast paced programs of work whilst empowering your teams and energizing them
