Sr. Competitive Intelligence Analyst
Plays a pivotal role in driving our competitive strategy by providing comprehensive analysis and insights on healthcare market trends, competitive landscape, and industry dynamics. Translates resulting insights into actionable recommendations to support decision making across Medical Mutual. Partners closely with the Director of Competitive Intelligence & Market Insights as a key contributor to the Corporate Strategy team. Manages key relationships, oversees related projects and develops solutions to business problems. Builds and maintains infrastructure to support the end-to-end Competitive Intelligence process.
Lead Competitive Intelligence Analyst
The Lead Competitive Intelligence Analyst is responsible for driving the competitive intelligence function and supporting strategic initiatives. This role involves managing complex projects, conducting advanced analyses, and providing high-level insights to executive leadership. The Lead Analyst will develop and implement competitive intelligence strategies, processes, and tools to enhance the company's competitive position. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, extensive experience in competitive intelligence, and the ability to influence strategic decisions. The Lead Analyst will also play a key role in stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement of competitive intelligence practices.
Responsibilities
Sr. Competitive Intelligence Analyst
Competitive Analysis:
- Build and maintain competitive intelligence infrastructure. Conduct thorough research and analysis of the healthcare market, including competitors' products, pricing, market positioning, and strategic initiatives. Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that impact the competitive landscape.
Market Intelligence:
- Build and maintain the market intelligence process and infrastructure. Develop and maintain a process to disseminate information and equip leaders with the right insights at the right time. This will involve the collection and analysis of data from various sources, such as market reports, industry publications, financial statements, and customer surveys, to identify key market trends, opportunities, and threats. Generate actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Competitor Profiling:
- Develop and maintain in-depth profiles of key competitors, including their organizational structure, market share, product offerings, pricing strategies, marketing campaigns, and competitive advantages. Monitor competitor activities and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies by providing valuable insights and recommendations based on competitive intelligence. Assist in the development of related materials and provide process support to internal customers.
Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards that effectively communicate competitive analysis findings to internal stakeholders. Collaborate with teams across the organization to disseminate relevant intelligence and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Lead Competitive Intelligence Analyst
Strategic Analysis and Insights
- Conduct advanced analysis of market trends, competitor strategies, and industry developments.
- Provide high-level strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive competitive intelligence database.
Project and Process Management
- Manage complex competitive intelligence projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and implement competitive intelligence strategies, processes, and tools.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of competitive intelligence practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Communicate insights effectively to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and strategy sessions to integrate competitive intelligence into strategic planning.
Market and Competitor Monitoring
- Continuously monitor and analyze industry news, competitor activities, and market trends.
- Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Strategic Reporting and Communication
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management.
- Communicate complex findings effectively to various stakeholders.
- Develop visualizations and dashboards to present data in an easily understandable format.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.
- 5 years of related experience
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of the healthcare market, including competitors, products, and regulatory environment.
- Proficiency in conducting competitive analysis and utilizing various research methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable recommendations.
- Advanced skills in data collection, interpretation, and visualization.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively. Including strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Word.
- Proficiency in using market research tools and data analytics platforms. (Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Lead Competitive Intelligence Analyst
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- 7 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic planning
- Proven experience in leading complex projects
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Exceptional analytical and research skills
- Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools and software (e.g. Excel, PowerBI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
