Job Summary:

Leads the operations support function across all the subsidiary company's supplemental insurance product lines across multiple states. Applies understanding of the products and services provided to internal and external customers and works closely with multiple internal departments and vendors to coordinate operations support.   This is a Remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of subject matter experts responsible for ensuring that internal and external partners meet or exceed and maintain operational performance and service standards. Coaches, develops, and motivates staff. Identifies and addresses staff performance issues. Ensures staff is properly trained and stays current with ongoing business changes. 
  • Provides direction to third party administrators (TPAs) to ensure compliance with company policies.  Assists with daily questions and oversight activities for the TPA.  Coordinates yearly audit on TPAs.   
  • Manages business relationships with assigned vendors supporting company operations
  • Serves as primary vendor liaison with internal departments to support required service and operational functions performed by vendor partners
  • Works closely with internal resources and vendor partners to facilitate operational implementations and assists in supervising the operations resources supporting the implementation process.
  • Collaborates with Legal and appropriate stakeholders in the creation and maintenance of vendor agreements
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.  In lieu of degree, may consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years progressive experience in health insurance operations, 3 years of which are in a leadership capacity
  • Experience with specialty/supplemental insurance is preferred

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of specialty/supplemental insurance business operations
  • in-depth knowledge of health insurance industry
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
