General Summary of Position
Installs maintains and repairs heating ventilating and refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems throughout the Washington Hospital Center under general supervision from a Facilities Supervisor/Designee.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required or
- Trade/vocational school graduate; or equivalent with courses such as chemistry physics and mathematics. required
- 3-4 years as a Junior AC&R Mechanic or equivalent demonstrating the ability to perform this position required
- Some experience with computer operated or microprocessor based controlled systems preferred
- Chlorofluorocarbon Certificate - CFCC (Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Universal Technician Certification) required
- Must exhibit the ability to read understand and interpret equipment manuals written specifications written and oral instructions meters and gauges as well as models/graphic illustrations such as: layouts diagrams blueprints mechanical and architectural drawings work sketches and schematic drawings as well as the ability to detect warning signals and machinery malfunctions.
- Some knowledge of computer operations and microprocessor-based systems used in basic electronics preferred.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $23.65 - USD $42.03 /Hr.
