About the Job

Summary of Position:

Join the Perioperative Services team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as an Administrative Coordinator and play a key role in supporting the operational and personnel functions of a dynamic clinical department.

In this highly visible role, you will partner closely with department leadership to help ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of Perioperative Services through administrative, payroll, onboarding, and office coordination support.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support including scheduling meetings and interviews, preparing reports and correspondence, maintaining department files, coordinating communications, and supporting clinical and operational leaders
  • Manage payroll and timekeeping processes including payroll reconciliation, timecard corrections, special pay requests, payroll record maintenance, and responding to payroll-related inquiries
  • Coordinate onboarding and personnel support activities for new hires, transfers, and travelers while maintaining employee records, educational databases, compliance tracking, and staff communications
  • Track traveler and agency staffing utilization including invoice reconciliation, spreadsheet maintenance, reporting, and departmental documentation management
  • Oversee daily office operations including supply ordering, office equipment maintenance, purchase orders, telecommunications and facilities requests, and general departmental coordination
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree 
  •  3+ years of comparable administrative experience; previous healthcare or administrative assistant experience is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, communication, and customer service skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheet/database management, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Word
  • Knowledge of file maintenance and an understanding of database management and spreadsheet applications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills
  • Must have ability to plan organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of persons

This position has a hiring range of

USD $49,192.00 - USD $87,422.00 /Yr.
