General Summary of Position
The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the strategic direction planning implementation and coordination of all supply chain functions across the hospital. This includes oversight of related operational personnel and financial activities within the department. These functions are coordinated with the Senior Director of Supply Chain Management, Hospital Administration, Department Heads, Medical Staff, and others and are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations policies procedures and standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the direction planning implementation and coordination all activities of Supply Chain functions (Receiving Distribution Central Stores Inventory Control).
- Assists with appraising forecasting and determining desired set of future conditions and strategies required to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization within Incumbent's area of expertise.
- Assists with developing and implementing systems that support the needs goals and objectives of entity and coordinates the implementation and management of the various Supply Chain Management computer systems.
- Assumes responsibility (directly or through delegation to other staff members) for personnel management of the Department to include but not limited to: interviewing hiring orienting training scheduling coaching counseling evaluation promotion and terminating employees as assigned by the Department Head.
- Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards.
- Participates as a member of committees and task forces to support Supply Chain functions in the Hospital as assigned by the Department Head.
- Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
- Provides assistance in monitoring and managing Supply Chain computer systems reports consistent with financial guidelines.
- Provides assistance with reviewing departmental statistical inventory revenue expense and exception reports and recommends and delegates corrective action where needed.
- Serves as a resource in developing and implementing educational programs for department employees in all areas of Supply Chain to develop their technical and management skills.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- On-the-Job Training in business administration supply chain management, healthcare management, or related field required.
Experience
- 5-7 years of supply chain including knowledge of warehousing, receiving, supplies, linen, and scrubs inventory distribution or logistics related experience required.
- Supervisory experience, preferably in the healthcare industry required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems contract management storeroom management hospital purchasing and personnel administration

USD $95,014.00 - USD $182,124.00 /Yr.
