General Summary of Position
Under the supervision of the Spiritual Care Director the chaplain serves the spiritual religious and emotional needs of patients families and staff. Specifically the chaplain through professional training and certification assists patients their family members and staff to cope more effectively with life and/or end of life issues as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being. Within the context of the individual's life experience the chaplain may offer prayer or reflection. The position requires a graduate degree in divinity or related field ordination from an established religion.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree In Theology or a related field required or
- Master's degree a related theological field from an accredited college university or seminary preferred or
- Ordination or rostering as a Roman Catholic Priest Jewish Rabbi Protestant Clergy or equivalent designated required or
- required
- 1-2 years Relevant pastoral ministry experience or equivalent preferably in a hospital/healthcare setting required
- Certification as a Board-Certified Chaplain BCC through one of the following certifying organizations BCC/APC NACC NAJC either at hire or within 18-24 months of hire. within 2 years required and
- If a priest or minister ordained by recognized religious body and endorsed by the proper ecclesiastical authority or equivalent designation. Upon Hire required and
- Two units of CPE from an accredited ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education) center Upon Hire required
- Counseling communication and listening skills.
- Expertise in the ethical/moral field.
- Basic computer skills required
This position has a hiring range of
USD $59,820.00 - USD $101,275.00 /Yr.
