General Summary of Position
The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist (CI Pharmacist) is responsible for the technologies supporting Pharmacy operations and Medication Management. The CI Pharmacist works collaboratively with patient care teams Pharmacy departmental leadership Quality Medication Safety Performance Improvement clinical leadership and Information Systems. This associate is an expert in the use of technology to optimize medication processes through automation EMR electronic decision support and data analytics and reporting. Using knowledge of pharmacy practice and informatics concepts the CI Pharmacist is responsible for effective process design translation of requests into system specifications priority setting troubleshooting and issue resolution and ongoing management and support of the Pharmacy systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required required or
- Advanced degree preferred
- 3-4 years Pharmacy practice required and
- 1-2 years Pharmacy Informatics experience or training required
- Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience working on patient safety initiatives and IT systems related to Pharmacy/EMR preferred
- RPH - Registered Pharmacist in Maryland and/or DC Upon Hire required
- Critical thinking reasoning and problem solving. Strong interpersonal skills organizational awareness and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with pharmacy applications related to automation EMR and data and reporting. Ability to function independently and as a team player in a multi-hospital environment required. Highly experienced with MS Office suite especially Excel.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $120,702.00 - USD $238,222.00 /Yr.
