About the Job

The Document Imaging Coordinator position is currently operating on a hybrid schedule due to an ongoing office renovation project. The current hybrid schedule is two days per week remote and three days per week working in the office.  Upon completion of the renovation project, this position is expected to transition back to a full-time, on-site schedule.

 

General Summary of Position
Under the general direction of the Director Health Information Management serves as the primary resource for the document imaging system. Responsibilities include: monitoring the system, troubleshooting issues, customer support to ensure ongoing satisfaction to all users, building and supporting workflow. Also participates in all software development testing, user training development of policies and procedures and understands the integration of all systems that affect department operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies system deficiencies, investigates difficulties, recommends corrective action or needed enhancements.
  • Performs systems analysis and development related to the support of the Medconnect system.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of HIM departmental applications and how they are used in department operations. Serves as the resource to HIM department management and staff in finding innovative ways to use workflow to resolve operational issues/barriers. Obtains concurrence from director and supervisors in how when and where to incorporate changes and enhancements.
  • Serves as a resource to other hospital departments outside HIM in finding innovative ways to use workflow to enhance operations or resolve operational issues/barriers. Is actively involved in the planning testing training and installation of new features and fixes to the Medconnect system.
  • Works closely with Information Services to ensure communications are occurring with regard to system and operational issues.
  • Directs and participates in the various system maintenance functions
  • Daily monitors and manages all task queues including CER BATCH.
  • Performs building and managing all aspects of workflow.
  • Maintains monitors and troubleshoots system when system errors occur.
  • Performs routine monitoring of system interfaces including COLD documents and fax-in queue. Serves as the primary resource for scanner issues and contacts appropriate service personnel when required.
  • Develops policies procedures and instructional materials in support of the electronic medical record
  • Maintains active involvement with forms verification process before being entered into the Medconnect system.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) credentials preferred

Experience

  • 3-4 years Related experience which included experience in a medical record environment required 
  • Experience in automated HIM systems in a network environment preferred 
  • Previous leadership and electronic medical record experience preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Verbal and written communications manual dexterity and basic math skills

This position has a hiring range of

USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
