Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for an Epilepsy Surgery Program Coordinator to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!

 

The Epilepsy Surgery Program Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Epilepsy Surgery Program, ensuring efficient coordination of patient care, surgical scheduling, and program activities. This role serves as a liaison between physicians, clinical teams, and departments to optimize scheduling, enhance communication, and support quality and patient safety initiatives across the program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and manages patient scheduling, intake, and surgical cases, ensuring compliance with institutional protocols and insurance requirements.
  • Serves as the central contact for the Epilepsy Surgery Program, facilitating communication among physicians, patients, and clinical departments to ensure timely and coordinated care.
  • Assists with pre-operative arrangements, including patient education, referrals, and completion of necessary documentation and clearances.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date program records, schedules, and databases; monitors timelines and assists with reports, data collection, and quality improvement activities.
  • Provides administrative support for program meetings, events, and multidisciplinary case conferences, including preparing materials, maintaining minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to improve operational efficiency, patient experience, and quality outcomes within the Epilepsy Surgery Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of medical, clinical, or administrative office experience required; prior supervisory experience and familiarity with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and scheduling systems; strong attention to detail and basic mathematical competency required.

This position has a hiring range of

USD $23.65 - USD $42.03 /Hr.
