MedStar Health is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our Behavioral Health department at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center!
The ideal candidate will be a licensed Occupational Therapist with knowledge of computerized clinical information systems such as AMHC database, Clinicians View, and Chart View. You will evaluate and treat physician referred patients 13 years of age and older in all levels of care.

Primary Duties:
Clinical: Evaluates and treats referred patients using appropriate assessment tools and communicates findings via written and oral report. Formulates appropriate treatment plans and goals for all patients assessed with AMHC Interdisciplinary Team. Supports the patient by providing education that leads towards growth and personal responsibility. Plans group treatment sessions with other staff and processes the group at its conclusions. Updates other professionals regarding patients' progress and collaboratively plans patient's course of treatment. Observes and documents patient activities in the medical record in a timely, accurate and concise manner. Maintains equipment and supplies.
Team: Acts as a departmental and hospital resource through informal leadership and technical expertise. Acts as a mentor to others on the team and in AMHC. Participates in the orientation of new staff members, assists with supervision of students and volunteers as needed.
Development: Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs to maintain licensure. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department. Maintains compliance with Code 10 training Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time for completion (CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation), License, PPD, Competencies, Age Specifics, etc.)
Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in inter-departmental teams and committees, communicating unit knowledge as appropriate. Provides department/unit with information and knowledge acquired during participation with interdepartmental teams and committees. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff, supervisors, and managers both inside and outside the unit.
Qualifications:
Occupational Therapy degree.
At least 1 year of experience preferred.
Experience with mental health preferred.
Maryland Licensure as Occupational Therapist.
BLS (Basic Life Support).
This position has a hiring range of
USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
