General Summary of Position
The Patient Advocate seeks to personalize and strengthen the relationship between the hospital and the patients their families and visitors and to facilitate a problem solving system of communications. Works to enhance the image of the hospital by acting in a public relations capacity. Also acts as an ombudsman on behalf of the patients and the hospital.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's of Arts or Science in healthcare related field required
- 1-2 years Previous public relations medical/healthcare office required and
- 1-2 years customer service experience required
- Demonstrated experience working with patients and families in an in-patient setting
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and multi-cultural environment
- Ability to diffuse stressful situations and resolve issues
This position has a hiring range of
USD $23.65 - USD $42.03 /Hr.
