About the Job

General Summary of Position
In coordination with the Director implements communication strategies tactics and metrics that drive results in reaching internal audiences of MedStar. Coordinates and develops content for multiple communication channels in support of the overall internal communications strategy. Analyzes databases for trends insights and opportunities. Works collaboratively with content experts to provide support for leadership key departments and committees concerning patient experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Analyzes multiple datasets and pulls necessary information from databases to discover trends insights and opportunities. Translates succinctly and powerfully data results into everyday meaningful applications.
  • Builds out multifaceted internal communications initiatives to reach specific internal stakeholders serving as liaison to all departments involved meeting deadlines and achieving goals. Collaborates with communications and marketing departments to implement employee communications in support of patient experience initiatives.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations Develops and distributes communications materials for the administration and promotion of all system surveys (associate physician safety etc.).
  • Develops and contributes relevant content to existing internal communication vehicles to build awareness understanding and to ensure alignment in messaging.
  • Implements a suite of internal communication collateral resources and ensures distribution to all stakeholders.
  • Implements a wide range of communications and resources concerning patient experience including but not limited to memos website/intranet content newsletter articles email presentations webcasts town hall meetings and other communications for targeted internal stakeholders. Implements and disseminates communications related to key patient experience initiatives.
  • Organizes associate events to support patient experience.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in any field required, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred 

Experience

  • Prior work experience not required
  • Experience in analytics and communications preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong clear writing and editing.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with formatting and creating communication deliverables.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to organize complex diverse material and translate into key messages and through multiple communication formats including newsletters presentations websites and intranet.
  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve; Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

This position has a hiring range of

USD $28.76 - USD $48.96 /Hr.
