We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Vascular Surgery team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital.  We're helping move cardiovascular care forward regionally and nationally through our MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, with clinical research, better diagnostic tools, and advanced treatments that are always patient focused.

This is a PRN position - REQUIRING between 1-2 shifts weekly (estimated between 6-8 per month).  Primarily the duties of the role will be pre and post op care, determining plan of care, H&P's, document progress notes, provide patient education, conduct follow ups cardiac evaluations, and respond to urgent clinical inquires.

The shifts will include days, evenings and weekends and be a commitment of at least one shift per week.

The ideal candidate will have background experience in vascular surgery or surgical setting but are open to new graduates.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Graduation from a Physician Assistant Program or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program required; and
  • Bachelor's degree required; and
  • Master's degree required (PA or AGACNP)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current license with the Maryland Board (depending on professional desgination) required; and
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required;  and
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required

 


This position has a hiring range of

USD $20.95 - USD $95.00 /Yr.
