Unit Description

MedStar Health's Wound Healing Institute at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital offers the most advanced wound care for complex or chronic sores, ulcers, and infections. Our comprehensive services range from diabetes education and wound prevention to sophisticated reconstructive surgeries that prevent limb loss. We also have experts in hyperbaric medicine, and we're the only hyperbaric oxygen therapy program accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society in Washington, D.C.

 

General Summary of Position
Professional care provider who assesses plans implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge. In collaboration with the patient and family provides theory-based professional nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.

 

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7am to 5pm (Four-10-hour shifts/week)

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program.  If prepared at the associate degree in nursing level required to enroll in a BSN program within 12 months of hire date and completion within 4 years of hire date preferred

Experience

  • 1-2 years RN experience required

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment Upon Hire required and
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Upon Hire required and
  • Additional specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Basic math skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills required

This position has a hiring range of

USD $38.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
