Summary:

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a compassionate, highly organized Transplant Donor Liaison to serve as a dedicated advocate and guide for individuals participating in the living donor transplant program. In this unique role, you will help donors navigate every step of their journey—from evaluation through recovery—ensuring they receive exceptional care, communication, and support throughout the transplant process.

This position plays a vital role within the transplant team, working closely with surgeons, nurses, coordinators, and hospital departments to provide a seamless experience for living donors and their families.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary advocate and point of contact for living donors, guiding them through the transplant process and ensuring a supportive, patient-centered experience.

  • Coordinate donor evaluations and surgical preparation, helping schedule appointments, organize pre- and post-transplant care, and maintain ongoing communication with donors and their families.

  • Provide day-of-surgery support, greeting and escorting donors through the hospital, coordinating with surgical and inpatient teams, and helping ensure a smooth surgical experience.

  • Assist donors during recovery, visiting patients after surgery, supporting discharge planning, coordinating follow-up care, and helping connect donors to resources and assistance programs.

  • Manage donor housing and support services, including coordinating off-site housing accommodations and assisting with travel and financial assistance resources such as the National Donor Assistance Program.

Minimal Qualifications:
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Heathcare Administration, or a related field required

Experience

  • 2+ years experience in a medical/hospital setting required.
  • Experience in transplant services or direct patient care preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional customer service and patient advocacy skills

  • Ability to provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families

  • Strong organizational and scheduling abilities

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in fast-paced clinical environments

  • Proficiency with standard computer systems and databases


This position has a hiring range of

USD $23.65 - USD $42.03 /Hr.
