General Summary of Position

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is looking for a full-time Administrative Coordinator to support the Patient Advocacy and Experience Department.
This position is Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM. The Administrative Coordinator performs a variety of administrative and secretarial responsibilities to facilitate the management of the operational and personnel activities of the department.

Primary Duties:

·        Performs administrative and secretarial functions for the department, including, but not limited to: preparation of correspondence, charts, graphs, special projects, reports and letters; answering telephones; scheduling appointments, interviews and meetings; maintenance of conference room schedule; provision of filing, photocopying and typing support for administrative and clinical managers; collection and distribution of mail; coordination and distribution of scrub cards; maintenance of staff mailboxes; and posting of staff communication

·        Maintains office equipment, including copier and fax machines; issues and maintains copier codes. Arranges for in services to train staff as needed on proper usage of office equipment. Arranges for service

·        Coordinates, orders, receives and tracks office supplies and business forms for assigned cost centers

·        Maintains office supply closets

·        Processes, tracks and follows up on purchase orders, expense authorizations and facilities and telecommunications requests

·        Exemplifies Patient Experience service standards and Spirit values, and actively participates in Patient Safety standards and tasks

·        Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and is not to be considered as all-inclusive

 

Minimum Requirements:

·        Associate degree, Required.

·        Minimum 3 years comparable administrative assistant experience, Required.

·        Proficient in MS Word

·        Knowledge of file maintenance, and an understanding of database management and spreadsheet applications

·        Effective oral and written communication skills

·        Must possess basic mathematical skills

·        Must have ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks

·        Ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of persons

·        Customer Service Background with experience in health care preferred.



This position has a hiring range of $48,235 - $84,468
