General Summary of Position
Under the general oversight of the Clinical Engineering leadership team, the Specialist III is primarily responsible for maintaining clinical equipment and systems considered to be advanced, specialty, highly sophisticated, integrated technology, or requiring manufacturer service training or certification, with minimal supervision, through the effective use of the medical equipment management plan, while adhering to all medical equipment policies and procedures, and manufacturer or alternative equipment maintenance (AEM) specifications. Performs a variety of tasks associated maintenance, calibration and repair of medical equipment and systems. Serves as a trainer, mentor, lead to junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree biomedical equipment technology, electronics or related field required or
- Related military work/training in mechanical or electrical engineering or academic work or actual work experience aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician. required
Experience
- 5-7 years experience in the repair and maintenance of advanced, specialty, highly sophisticated, or integrated medical equipment and systems. required
Licenses and Certifications
- CBET - Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician Upon Hire required or
- must be actively pursuing CBET and obtain within 2 years required
