MedStar Washington Hospital Center — one of the region's largest and most respected academic medical centers — is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide 24/7 operational and clinical leadership for the CVOR, overseeing nursing practice, patient care quality, staffing, and budget management.

·       Foster a collaborative environment that supports innovation, professional development, and shared governance.

·       Ensure excellence in surgical care delivery while driving performance improvement initiatives.

·       Serve as a strategic partner to physician leaders, perioperative services, and hospital administration.

·       Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing nursing team committed to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field preferred.

·       CVOR nursing experience is required.

·       Previous nursing leadership or management experience is strongly preferred.

·       Active RN licensure in the District of Columbia.

·       Specialty certification in nursing or administration required within 2 years of hire.

This position has a hiring range of $118,331.20 - $218,171.20
