Family Medicine Physician - Core Residency Faculty - MedStar Health at Fort Lincoln

The MedStar Health/Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking a full-time residency core faculty member. The ideal candidate must possess a passion for resident and student teaching and a commitment to caring for the urban underserved with at least two years of experience working with residents preferred. Residency core faculty support the Program Director and Assistant Program Director in a continued tradition of innovative, community-oriented educational excellence and patient-centered clinical care. 

 

The core faculty will assume responsibility for patient care services, clinically privileged at the Department's residency practice, MedStar Medical Group Family Medicine at Fort Lincoln and inpatient at MedStar Southern Maryland Medical Center. The core faculty will collaborate with the Program Director, Practice Administrator, Department Administrator and Department Chair for the efficient operation of the Family Medicine practice and residency program to meet ACGME requirements. 

 

Responsibilities include: participating in resident recruitment, overseeing resident scholarly activity, ensuring the quality of didactic and clinical education including the maintenance and development of curricula and partner training sites, and working directly with residents to ensure appropriate milestone development. A minimum of 0.4 FTE time will be assigned to ambulatory patient care, 0.2 FTE precepting, including being a member of the team covering inpatient medicine. Inpatient adult medicine skills preferred, but not required, particularly if fellowship trained in Geriatrics, Sports Medicine, Lifestyle/Obesity Medicine, Women's Health, or Hospice and Palliative Care.

This position has a base salary hiring range of $180,000 - $220,000.

In addition to the base salary, you are eligible for the signing bonus and quality and productivity incentive compensation outlined above.
