General Summary of Position

Interventional Radiology Nurse

At MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Interventional Radiology Nurses are integral members of an academic medical center team known for innovation, teaching, and excellence in patient care. In this role, you will deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced procedural environment, supporting patients before, during, and after complex diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Working alongside world-class physicians, anesthesia providers, and imaging specialists, you will monitor sedation, assist with advanced procedures, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety. This role offers critical care nurses the opportunity to expand their expertise in a collaborative, teaching-focused environment while gaining exposure to diverse cases in vascular, neurological, and interventional radiology.

Schedule & Benefits

  • 4/10 rotating shifts
  • On-call required after orientation
    • $10/hr pager pay
    • 1-hour callback time

What You'll Do

  • Assist with procedures including biopsies, drains, GI bleeds, embolizations, and stroke thrombolysis
  • Provide pre-op, intra-procedural, and post-op care
  • Float to MRI, CT, and IR holding areas as needed
  • Monitor sedation and ensure patient safety
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in ICU, Interventional Radiology, or Emergency Department
  • Strong procedural/diagnostic background
  • BLS & ACLS
  • Active Washington, DC RN license

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
