General Summary of Position
The MedStar Capacity Transfer Center has a Full-Time opportunity at our Lanham, MD office. The Radiology Communications Coordinator works in the MedStar Transfer Center as a representative for the Radiology on call program. This role provides services including critical radiology communications between physicians and departments, as well as other critical communications for the MedStar Health system.
This department is open 24 hours a day and has openings for day, evening, and overnight shifts. The shifts are typically 12 hours and every other weekend is required. This Full-Time position will be represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 722.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Specialized and/or advanced clerical, technical or other vocational training in emergency medicine/communications acquired during 1-2 years of additional job-related training required.
Experience
- 2 years in communications and/or healthcare required.
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and Certifications
- Medical Assistant (current or prior registration) preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (current or prior registration) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in keyboarding (>60 words/minute preferred)
- Job requires extensive keyboarding, handwriting and use of telephone equipment
This position has a hiring range of $21.569 - $32.808
