Outpatient General Cardiology and Hospital Follow-Up Clinic Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner Opening at MedStar Washington Hospital Center

We are looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the General Cardiology Role. For more than 50 years, MedStar Washington Hospital Center has provided expert care for patients with even the most complex heart and vascular conditions. This position is a dedicated outpatient cardiology role. A strong Cardiology background is required as this will be the sole APP in the role. This APP is in charge of following up with patients that are discharged from the hospital with Cardiology problems and need to be seen by one of our MedStar Cardiologists or referred to a Cardiologist closer to their home. They will also be following up with patients when the Cardiologists can't fit them into their schedule. The APP then will discuss with the Cardiologist the patient's needs. This role is made to allow better access to care for our Cardiology patients.

The schedule includes 4 10 hr. shifts typically ranging from 7 AM to 5 PM. There are no required nights, weekends, or holidays. This is a salaried position with salary commensurate with experience. 

Minimum Qualifications:

- Education/Training: Masters or higher
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with appropriate state licensure.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current NP or PA license and CDS in Washington DC, current DEA registry, BLS certification
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience, preferably in Cardiology
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 This position has a hiring pay range of $115,000 - $143,619.
