General Summary of Position
The IV Room Supervisor is responsible for the administration, coordination and supervision of the IV room services at GUH. They will identify, resolve, prevent drug-related problems, and conducts clinical activities. The IV Room Supervisor will assist the Manager of Pharmacy Services in setting departmental goals, delivering and advancing the IV therapy and distributive pharmacy services by interacting with health care providers, patients, and family, as appropriate to ensure continuity of services and to achieve desired positive patient outcomes through safe, efficient, cost-effective IV drug therapy. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree BS in Pharmacy required
- Pharm.D preferred or
Experience
- Two years as an IV room pharmacist required
- Some managerial experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist DC license required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of the theory and practice of IV pharmacy service, good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must demonstrate and maintain knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care for the adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients that involve the use of drugs.
- Must demonstrate knowledge in understanding of changes in physiology in various age groups, understanding of drug pharmacokinetics and toxicities in the various age, and understanding of proper selection of drugs.
