General Summary of Position
Oversees implementation, optimization, maintenance and day to day performance of the clinical information systems. Serves as a primary point of contact for MedStar Medical Group (MMG) provider communities health informatics needs, education and ongoing advance support for clinical information systems and tools. Provides training, coaching, and mentorship to informatics team members. Serves as a point of escalation for support, resource needs and conflict resolution for the team in close collaboration with Informatics leadership. Takes a lead role in working with leadership to research and propose application support strategies and goals. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
Experience
- 5-7 years Informatics technical experience in a healthcare environment required and
- 3-4 years Experience at Medstar Health in informatics capacity preferred and
- 1-2 years 2 years experience supervising or precepting staff preferred and
- Prior experience working with Oracle Cerner or Epic required and
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical, writing, interpersonal and project management skills in an IS related role is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- PROBLEM SOLVING: Job requires the highest level of problem solving. The work requires identifying and resolving very complex problems, such as developing innovative solutions based on extensive cross-functional knowledge of the entire MMG organization.
- INTERNAL CONTACTS: Internal contacts necessary to effectively negotiate, persuade, or present issues to others within the Hospital facilities and MMG.
- EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Frequent interactions with patients, family, and visitors. Frequent contact with corporate IS staff and IS managers at all levels of the organization. Occasional interaction with representatives from technology vendors, community agencies, credentialing agencies, and professional organization(s).
- INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: Work assignments are generally received in the form of broad goals for area(s) of responsibility and require considerable judgment regarding the interpretation of policies, development of procedures, and selection of appropriate courses of action.
This position has a hiring range of $95,014 - $182,124
