General Summary of Position
Provides technical information, coordination and direction to technologists in a specific laboratory section engaged in performing specialized tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Monitors quality control, quality assurance and safety programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science field required
Experience
- 3-4 years of progressively more responsible job related experience required
Licenses and Certifications
- ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing.
- Must be able to teach in both formal (lecture) and informal venues.
- Must be well versed in general micrography and photoprocessing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with other laboratory /medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
- Computer literacy and experience with IBM/MAC/Windows format is strongly recommended.
- Ability to communicate clearly; read and understand information about instrumentation/procedures and departmental quality assurance guidelines.
