Overview:
This position serves as a critical leader in developing and overseeing medical education programs and partnerships. The Director of Medical Education will be responsible for the development, direction, operations and management of the Medical Education Department and programs including, but not limited to Medical Students, Advanced Practice Professional Students, Nursing Students, CAPS Students, EMT Students, Interns and Student Shadows within our hospitals and clinics. Elevate our commitment to education by overseeing the strategic partnership between Mercy and top-tier universities or colleges, ensuring the seamless delivery of high school health care career programming in Mercy communities as well as help establish new programs with institutional accreditation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- 2 years of leadership experience with an emphasis on medical education and physician
- Experience including knowledge of CME requirements, medical students and preceptor coordination and partnerships with educational centers and community-based organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience:
- 3 years of leadership experience with an emphasis on medical education and physician management preferred.

- Ability to organize information.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
- Ability to efficiently and accurately manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to make decisions independently or to escalate issues as needed.
- Dedicated to continuous improvement and quality assurance processes.
- Self-directed, self-motivated team player, experienced at managing and motivating staff.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
