The Manager - Financial Reporting has a direct reporting relationship with the Director of Finance and is responsible for the coordination and management of financial reporting for Mercy Health East Communities. This includes preparation, analysis and reporting of the monthly financial results for internal (leadership, Sisters of Mercy) and external (Board of Directors, audited financial statements, etc) parties. Also manages the day to day processes within the Financial Reporting department to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all reports, including processes to monitor and improve internal controls. Manager provides analysis and support to administration, develops analytical tools and reports for departments and interprets data for all levels of the Community's operations. Manager is responsible for recommending work simplification to insure coordination and eliminate unnecessary or duplication of efforts with in the areas of responsibility. This individual will also have responsibility for maintaining financial accounts, including reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts. Must be able to work well with other finance professionals and administrative leaders. The Manager of Financial Reporting will provide daily supervision and staff development plans for the financial reporting department and will provide financial support to co-workers throughout the Mercy Health East Communities entity. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related finance field from an accredited college or university required
Experience: Minimum of five to seven + years of health care or related experience including progressive accounting and financial reporting and management experience with specific experience in one or more of the following: financial operations, physician practices, billing, and accounts receivable, managed care, financial analysis and/or process improvement.

3. Strong communication skills, ability to interact with departmental leaders.
4. Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
5. Knowledge of proper financial statement formats and disclosures required under GAAP
.6. Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
Preferred Licensure: CPA preferred
Preferred Experience: Healthcare organization knowledge/experience desired.
Preferred Certifications: CPA or comparable experience preferred.
