Overview:

 

The Renal Medical unit is a specialty unit within MedSurg that makes up the foundation of nursing. The purpose of the Renal/Oncology Unit is to provide close monitoring, nursing care, holistic and compassionate care and services to those patients with renal and oncology diagnoses. The typical Nurse to Patient Ratio will be 6:1, of less depending on acuity. Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary. 

 

Career Advancement Opportunity: Requires Chemotherapy Certification within 1 year


Qualifications:

    • Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
    • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
    • Certifications: BLS 
    •  Physical Requirements:
      • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. 
      • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
      • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
