The MA may assist with clinical procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care. Position Details:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
Qualifications
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Experience: One year of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and updating medical and medication histories
Preparing patients for exams and assisting with provider evaluations and procedures
Performing basic diagnostic testing as appropriate and documenting care accurately
Reinforcing provider‑directed patient education
Maintaining clean, well‑stocked exam rooms and adhering to safety and infection‑prevention standards
Assisting with scheduling tests, referrals, follow‑ups, and supporting front‑office operations
Participating in quality initiatives, staff meetings, and other MA‑related duties
Work Environment:
• Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.
• Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.
