About Mercy South Emergency Department

Join a dynamic and collaborative team in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Mercy South's Emergency Department is a Level II Trauma Center, Level I Stroke Center, and STEMI Receiving Center with Comprehensive Stroke Certification. We provide care for a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatrics, ranging from low acuity to critical care.

 

Department Highlights:

  • 63-bed Emergency Department
  • RN-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4
  • Dedicated triage, behavioral health, and Super Track areas
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration with ED physicians

Position Overview

As the Nurse Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality nursing care within the Emergency Department on a 24-hour basis. This role requires a strategic and compassionate leader who fosters a professional practice environment aligned with Mercy's mission and values. You will be responsible for clinical outcomes, resource management, staff engagement, patient satisfaction, and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and clinical care delivery
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Support staff development and professional growth
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current RN license or temporary permit in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and computer systems

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
