Overview
Under the direction of a licensed physician in the state of practice, may provide professional care to patients. The physician delegates the authority to perform a medical screening examination, deliver health care services and treatments, and dispense and prescribe drugs in the scope of practice in emergency medicine. The scope of the physician assistant is defined within the collaborative practice agreement. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.Qualifications
Education: Graduate from a medical education program accredited by the Commission in Accreditation of Allied Health Professionals.
Licensure: Licensed in the applicable State of practice as a physician assistant required.
Experience:
Certifications: Certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. Current collaborative practice agreement with appropriate physicians.
Other:
Preferred Education: Minimum of two years recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department preferred.
