Position SummaryThe Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, this role plays a vital part in maintaining patient safety, medication accuracy, and efficient pharmacy operations.
What You'll Do- Assist pharmacists with preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications
- Support daily pharmacy operations while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems and dispensing technology
- Utilize robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets as applicable
- Perform initial troubleshooting of automated pharmacy technology and associated software
- Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Help ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, and service
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Active, good-standing registration with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or
- Willingness to submit a registration application by the first day of employment, including fingerprint submission for an FBI background check
- One year of relevant pharmacy experience preferred, but not required
- Successfully complete all required pharmacy department orientation and training
- Advanced knowledge and use of pharmacy equipment and automation technology
- Proficiency with pharmacy workflow management systems
- Ability to operate robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets
- Strong troubleshooting skills for automated pharmacy technology and software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining accuracy
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a patient-focused approach
