What You'll DoAs a Pharmacy Technician, you will support pharmacists in preparing, compounding, dispensing, and delivering medications while helping maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Enter medication and patient information into EPIC as appropriate.
- Complete department-approved sterile compounding training.
- Prepare and compound sterile medications when assigned.
- Retrieve, count, prepare, and package medications for pharmacist verification.
- Accurately fill medication orders and prescriptions in a timely manner.
- Receive, maintain, and secure pharmacy inventory.
- Deliver medications to patients and clinical units following pharmacist verification.
- Prepare medications for delivery or shipment.
- Retrieve and process returned or unused medications when appropriate.
- Conduct patient follow-up calls as required.
- Order, stock, and organize medications and supplies.
- Follow hazardous waste handling procedures.
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives and monitor for expired medications.
- Maintain pharmacy equipment cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Prioritize workload based on patient care needs.
- Make timely medication deliveries to nursing units.
- Participate in department meetings, huddles, and team initiatives.
- Help train and support new pharmacy team members.

You will:
- Complete all required hospital and department-specific training programs.
- Participate in EPIC training.
- Attend pharmacy technician orientation and training sessions.
- Complete required competencies for assigned pharmacy areas.
- Continue building skills in pharmacy automation, medication safety, and healthcare technology.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Nursing Students are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Active registration with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or
- Willingness to submit registration by your first day of employment, including required fingerprinting and FBI background check.
- One year of pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required within six months of hire.
