Overview:
- Out patient registration/lab assistant for Imaging Services (Off-sites, MRI, C.T., Radiology, Ultrasound).
- Verifies insurance and checks for authorization.
- Schedules all out-patient C.T. and MRI procedures.
- Responsible for receptionist duties including greeting patients and directing phone calls.
- Other duties include working up requisitions, collecting patient specimens, venipunctures, assisting physicians, filing films and reports, faxing reports, retrieving films for comparison and assisting technologists as needed.
- Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous experience in computer data entry and mathematical aptitude required.
Other: Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance programs required. Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with adult and geriatric patients.
