Overview:

 

The Mercy Hospital Joplin Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level III facility that offers the region's best care for premature or critically ill infants. Our 12-bed facility is staffed with Neonatal Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and the support of Mercy Kids pediatric specialist services in the area. Functionally, our nurses care for Infants 23 weeks gestation born prematurely to newborns with critical conditions. The typical Nurse to Patient Ratio is based on the acuity of each patient.

 

Career Advancement Opportunity: Requires NRP & STABLE certification within 1 year


Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
  • Experience: At least 2 years of NICU, or L&D related experience 
  • Preferred Education: BSN
  • License: current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
