Description
The IME Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and communicating examination details to the involved parties, preparing medical packets for the IME physician, scheduling ancillary services when necessary, and following up to verify exam attendance and obtain the determination.
The position requires the IME Coordinator to work and communicate with PIP Adjusters, as well as other team members. The IME Coordinator will also interact with NJM policyholders, associated injured parties or their legal representatives, medical providers and other departments within NJM, as needed.
To accomplish this, the IME Coordinator:
Evaluate new assignments to ensure the request identifies the appropriate specialty, location and is cost effective.
Initiate contact with the physician's office, or outside vendor, to schedule and coordinate examinations.
Communicate with the PIP Adjuster regarding appointment scheduling, appointment changes, no shows, cancellations, and receipt of medical records and/or imaging.
Communicate examination details to the claimant and/or claimant's counsel, as well as any scheduling changes. Issue timely and accurate correspondence. Document all contact and activity regarding the file.
Coordinate ancillary services necessary to guarantee attendance at the examination, and ensure timely communication with vendors to cancel or reschedule as needed.
Prepare medical packets for the IME Physician. Organize records in an orderly fashion; eliminate unnecessary documentation and forward packets to the provider prior to the examination.
Follow up with the IME provider/Vendor to confirm attendance and secure outcome within regulatory timeframes.
Receive pre-payment requests and forward for processing.
Handle and respond to incoming communication from providers or claimants concerning the examination. Appropriately escalate calls to the PIP Adjuster as needed.
Conduct an ongoing evaluation of the performance of IME providers, including cost, quality of reports, adherence to time constraints and any customer complaints regarding the process.
Participate in educational or training activities as required.
Perform other duties as requested.

The Salary Range for this role is $48,642 - $55,875. Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials.
