Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Develops comprehensive civil engineering designs for the construction, reconfiguration, and maintenance of railway oriented facilities.

 

Principal Duties:

  • Produces complete engineering packages to include: conceptual plans and budget estimates, site surveying, development of detailed construction drawings, preparation of project specifications, and submittal of permit documents.
  • Solves problems related to site selection, facility configuration, track layouts, zoning, permitting, and budget constraints.
  • Works closely with both external and internal customers to determine the type of facilities which are desired, and then incorporates input from other involved departments to create an efficient final design.
  • Employs effective verbal communication and public speaking skills in meeting with and discussing projects with the Company's internal and external customers or Governmental permitting agencies.
  • Performs surveys and prepares drawings utilizing CADD design applications.
  • Desire to become an EIT/FE and Professional Engineer is required.
