At NorthBay Health the EKG Technician, Cardiology is a member of the health care team who has the responsibility of performing EKG's and assisting in Cardiac Stress Testing. The EKG Tech utilizes Relationship Based Care to deliver safe, effective, quality, cost effective care. The Tech supports the mission, vision, values, and expectation of excellence.

Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree in health care related field and/or certification program in EKG from an accredited institution preferred. Completion of cardiac arrhythmia class preferred. One year college preferred in life sciences or health sciences. Suggested Classes: Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Cardiac Anatomy and Medical Terminology.
Licensure/credential: Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS. Telemetry certification within 90 days introductory period.
Experience: One year recent work experience in the field of cardiology preferred. One year in an acute care facility, as an EKG Technician preferred.
Skills: Excellent organizational skills. EKGs and assist with stress testing, vital signs. Perform basic clerical procedures including filing, phone answering and some computer knowledge
Communication – Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills in the English Language
Age Specific: The EKG Technician care that is specific to the special behavior/needs within the scope of services for Cardiology.
Physical Effort: Performs all physical duties of the job. Requires lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills. Ability to move equipment to patient rooms to complete studies.
Hours of Work: Variable to meet demands of the unit. Weekends required.
Other: Must be available to perform job duties at both the NorthBay and VacaValley campus.
Compensation: $33.13 - $40.56 (rate includes per diem differential, based on years of experience in role)
