JOB SUMMARY
At NorthBay Health, the HR Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting workforce and other HR related data to support strategic and operational reporting and decision-making related to the Human Resources function. This role transforms raw HR data into actionable insights related to talent acquisition, retention, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, leave of absence diversity, learning and organization development, employee engagement, employee health and performance management. The HR Data Analyst partners closely with HR leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve organizational effectiveness through data-driven strategies. Works closely to support all HR leaders and executive for analytics request and ongoing data support.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Data Management & Reporting
Collect, validate, and maintain HR data from HRIS, ATS, payroll, benefits, performance systems, or other HR related systems.
Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and recurring HR metrics reports.
Provides ongoing data and ad hoc reports as requested.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
Create standardized reporting frameworks for HR KPIs.
Workforce Analytics
Produces reports and analyze data for workforce trends including but not limited to reports like: turnover, retention, headcount, time-to-fill, absenteeism, learning, compliance, and engagement.
Conduct predictive and diagnostic analytics to identify trends and root causes as requested.
Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights.
Support workforce planning and forecasting initiatives.
Business Intelligence & Visualization
Design and maintain interactive dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
Translate complex datasets into clear visualizations and executive-ready presentations.
Present findings to HR leadership and senior leadership.
HRIS and other HR Systems
Partner with HRIS, HR Analysts and IT teams to improve system functionality and reporting capabilities.
Creates, builds and maintains reports in systems to meet business needs.
Assist in HR system implementations, upgrades, and integrations as requested.
Support automation of HR reporting processes.
Compliance & Data Governance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements (e.g., EEO, ACA).
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data and HR information.
Develop and document data governance practices and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in HR analytics, business analytics, or data analysis.
- Experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud, UKG, etc.).
- Experience in workforce analytics or HR reporting preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Working knowledge of SQL; familiarity with R or Python is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HR metrics and KPIs.

Hours of Work: Exempt. Hybrid remote.
Compensation: $46.62 to $56.72 based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
