Description
At NorthBay Health, The Magnet Program Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who in implementing, monitoring, and sustaining the standards required for Magnet® designation and re-designation. The Coordinator plays a critical role in aligning nursing excellence initiatives with ANCC Magnet® standards across the organization, serving as a visible, energetic resource and mentor for professional practice, performance improvement, evidence-based practice, and shared governance.
This position collaborates across disciplines to advance nursing practice, improve quality outcomes, promote patient and staff satisfaction, and assist with the development of Magnet-related documentation, data collection, education, and staff engagement activities. The Magnet Coordinator does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but acts as a key facilitator and liaison for nursing excellence initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related Health Care field is required.
- Either the baccalaureate or master's degree must be in nursing.
- A higher degree in nursing (a master's or doctorate in nursing), will meet the requirement even if the baccalaureate degree is not in nursing.
Licensure:
- Current California RN License.
- National certification relevant to nursing excellence or Magnet standards – Required within 2 years of hire (must meet ANCC Magnet certification requirements).
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years' clinical experience in an acute care setting required.
- Three to five years of progressive management experience with increasing scope of responsibility preferred.
- Previous experience facilitating organizational Magnet compliance, either initial or re-designation is preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Possesses teaching ability, leadership ability, and high professional standards.
- Must be well organized, be able to set priorities, work independently and is an effective team member.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) required. Statistical/data management skills preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with administration, medical staff, and hospital personnel as well as external customers.
Physical Effort:
- Performs all physical duties of the job.
Other:
- Knowledge of regulatory processes (Joint Commission and Title 22) required.
- Completion of annual organizational requirements for employment such as TB testing, Safety Training, Corporate Compliance, HIPAA.
Compensation:
- $183K - $221K annually
- Max rate listed is commensurate of 20+ years of experience offer is based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
