Description

At NorthBay Health, the Occupational Therapist works under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Supervisor and Manager. In this role, the Occupational Therapist will specialize in Hand Therapy, providing individualized care based on thorough evaluations and physician referrals. The therapist plans and implements tailored treatment programs in alignment with the principles of occupational therapy, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current California Occupational Therapy license is required.

  • NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) Certification is required.

  • CHT (Certified Hand Therapist), Physical Agent Modalities (PAM), Advanced Practitioner certification, or Advanced Practitioner certification in Hand Therapy is preferred.

  • Applicants may be considered with an active Occupational Therapy license.

  • Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification, along with any other annual system or departmental requirements (e.g., TB testing, safety training).

Experience:

  • One year of experience in an acute hospital or outpatient hand clinic setting is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.

Skills:

  • Strong clinical skills in occupational therapy evaluation and treatment.

  • Ability to provide care across all patient age groups: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.

  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing occupational therapy practice.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Physical Effort:

  • Attendance is a vital part of the job. The physical demands include moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling of patients and equipment, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Salary Range Min $60.97 - Max $77.07(Offered hourly rate based on years of experience) 
  • 10% per diem differential included in salary range
