Description
At NorthBay Health the Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician provides comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine services, with a strong emphasis on the diagnosis and management of sleep-related disorders in an ambulatory setting. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for adults with pulmonary and sleep conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team to optimize patient outcomes.
Inpatient/Outpatient Responsibilities: Outpatient only
Daily Patient Census: Average 18-20 patients per day
Equipment/Resources: Access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive resources
Provider Support: Collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care to adult patients.
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions including asthma, COPD, chronic cough, interstitial lung disease, and other respiratory disorders.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, restless leg syndrome, and circadian rhythm disorders.
- Interpret and manage diagnostic testing including pulmonary function tests (PFTs), home sleep apnea testing (HSAT), polysomnography, and other pulmonary and sleep-related studies.
- Manage PAP therapy, including CPAP and BiPAP treatment plans and compliance monitoring.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding pulmonary and sleep conditions, treatment plans, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development activities as appropriate
- Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted California medical license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

COMPENSATION AND PERKS
Income: $245. hourly basis with a productivity incentive over a static threshold
Sign-On Bonus up to $10K
